Rallying and Minis go together like Monte and Carlo, and this month we have a chance for 10 readers to try out non-timed road rallying on Drive It Day. Continental Car Tours is offering 10 free places on its N.E.W.S. Run on Sunday, April 25.
This is a navigation trial with four different start points — North, East West and South, hence N.E.W.S. — each of them about 120 miles from the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon. Entrants have to navigate from the start point to Gaydon, visiting and photographing a series of locations along the route. Prizes go to the shortest route from each start point. On arrival at Gaydon, there will be an optional ‘autokhana’ driving test, including parking, reversing and driving around cones.
Start points will be Buxton in Derbyshire, Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk, Twigworth in Gloucestershire, and Sevenoaks in Kent. Cars set off at one minute intervals, but the event is not a race and speed limits must be adhered to. It does, however, provide the fun of a competitive motoring event without the risk or expense.
We have 10 free places on the Continental Car Tours N.E.W.S. Run to give away, worth £25 each including VAT. To enter, just answer the following question:
